Volunteers Needed
Room Parents:  The purpose of the room parent is to help the teacher with coordinating parent volunteers, plan and organize parties/events/culminating activities and help the teacher to find creative ways to reduce their extra-curricular work load and involve parents.  Most of this can be done from home.  We still need room parents for the following teachers:
           Jones             2nd Grade
Davis 2nd Grade
           Vietti             4th Grade
Barnett 4th Grade

If you would like to volunteer to help as a room parent or with any of our events and have not had an opportunity to sign up yet, please send an email to DebraDomenici@gmail.com and we will add you to our list!

Writer in Residence is one of the innovative programs at Endeavor Hall.  As part of this program, nationally published authors are frequently at the school working with the students.  We are in need of volunteers to help while the authors are here.  This will provide you the opportunity to work with your students’ grades and with some of our wonderful authors.  More than two volunteers are always welcome, though we can make do with two in each class.  The more responders, the more attention and response each student receives--plus it gives experience to parents in how to respond constructively to their kids' writing.  If you would like to volunteer to help with this, please sign up here:  www.SignUpGenius.com/go/5080F44AEAF28A46-writer or contact Debbie Domenici at DebraDomenici@gmail.com or 801-634-5557.  Please check this site regularly as we update it regularly!

Quarterly VO Meeting: We will be holding our next Quarterly VO meeting at Culvers located at 3407 South 5600 West, West Valley, January 29, 2013 5-8 PM.  A percentage of purchases this night will go towards the school!  We need 4-8 volunteers to help as door greeters and to deliver food.  If you would like to help for shift please contact Debbie Domenici at DebraDomenici@gmail.com.  The more volunteers we have the shorter the shifts will be!

Volunteer Appreciation
We would like to thank the following parents for putting in more than 40 hours of volunteer service so far this year:
Liz Taylor - 44.2 Polly Lawrence - 50.87 Christy Richards - 55.55
Stephanie Cousins - 56.43 Angie Jowers - 146.53
Ladies we really appreciate your help at the school!

Volunteer Service Incentives!
Unlike some schools, we do NOT require a certain number of parental service hours, but we do need parental involvement to keep it going at its best. Please remember that any volunteer hours that you put in at the school or from home need to be documented in the volunteer sign-in binder in the front office so that you receive credit!

We recently did a survey to see what incentives our parents would like to have for putting in volunteer hours and documenting those hours.  Our first volunteer incentive is going to be . . . reserved seats for the holiday programs! (Anyone who came to the performances last December knows how vital this will be to your enjoyment of the event!)  The following parents have already put in volunteer hours and need to contact Debbie Domenici at DebraDomenici@gmail.com to verify which performances they will be attending, how many seats they have earned and how many they need by Monday, December 17:
Dennis Lopez Heather Cable Marcy Valenzuela Scott Davidson
Trudi Millet Mary James Pamela Willis Chris Denner
Angel Pham Trisha Gold Lisa Scow Greg Nickles
Kris Katoa Nicholas Demas Ben Lock Elsa

Milenka Stocking Danna Clark Shirley Gold Melanie Gill
Juliet Christensen Andie Holtkamp Florence Nelson Lila Thacker
Tonya Walker Carlisa Southam Jennifer Garner Renee Hettenhouser

Angie Jowers

Later in the year we are going to offer other incentives, such as a reserved parking space after school, first pick of SEP conference times, reserved seats for the spring concert, and other incentives so please get on signupgenius.com pronto and fill in those empty Writer in Residence shifts,  we expect that they will fill up fast now that this incentive program is announced!

Fundraising
Tile Fundraiser:  We still have quite a lot of money to raise for the planned playground structure, to match the funds we received from our grant over the summer. We have plans for a spectacular final fundraiser for the year.  More information about this fundraiser will be coming shortly!

Digital Storyteling Lab Grant:  Endeavor Hall is currently participating in the Clorox "Power a Bright Future" grant competition.  We are looking to build a digital storytelling lab where our students will be able to publish their work.  It will be complete with new computers, publishing software, cameras, scanners, and binding machines.  In order to win, we need you to vote every day at https://powerabrightfuture.clorox.com/nominees/detail/?nid=2286 or text 2286pbf to 95248 now through December 19, 2012.  You all did a great job with getting us the playground grant, and we know we can do it again.  Perhaps the best part of this grant is that we do not have to provide matching funds!

Other News
Cinch Sacks and Water Bottles:  We still have EH cinch sacks and water bottles available for sale.  These would make great Christmas presents!  These are very nice and good quality materials, and can be used often in your students classrooms. The teachers would love to have students leaving their classrooms less often to visit the drinking fountain, and another reusable bag (or several) to keep handy are always useful at home or school!  You may purchase cinch sacks for $10 each and water bottles for $5 each.  If you are interested, please notify us at DebraDomenici@gmail.com and we can arrange to get these to you.

Facebook: We have two Facebook pages that you can visit to get up to date information about upcoming events and incidents at the school. Please “Like” the following pages to stay informed:  Endeavor Hall and Endeavor Hall Eagle Power.

Have an amazing December!
