April Newsletter

Endeavor Hall Volunteer Organization
                                   April 2012

The last quarter of school has arrived!  So far it’s been an incredible first year.  A big thanks to all of you for your contributions and support.  We truly believe that our EH family is the BEST.

Have you seen our students “EH” picture hanging in the front foyer?  As part of Spirit Week they were formed into the letters of our school, and a picture was taken from the roof.  The students and staff all loved this fun way to commemorate our school’s first year.  If you’re interested, you can order an 8x10 copy through the front office.  Put cash or checks written to Endeavor Hall in an envelope ( $5 each picture).  Then put your name and a child's name on the envelope with the number of pictures you would like.  Then turn it in to the office by April 27th.

VO Officer Elections (closed)
It's time to elect the VO officers for the 2012-13 school year.  If you are interested in serving on the Volunteer Organization board please submit your name and a paragraph about you no later than April 27th at the end of the school day to Chantelle.  Winners will be announced on May 7.

Volunteer Opportunities & Upcoming Events
We have many fun activities planned during the last few weeks of school and we will need a lot of help if they’re all going to be amazing.  If you can help in any way with any of the following things, please contact us as asked.

Teacher Appreciation Week:  May 7-11th
We have definitely been blessed by our outstanding teachers!  Information will be coming home soon from your child’s Room Parent with ideas on how you can thank them.  We hope you will at least take the time to say “thank you.”

Mommies & Muffins:  May 14th
We would like to invite the moms or grandma’s or aunts etc. in our students lives to join them in the school cafeteria for a light breakfast the day after Mother’s Day.  Come have some yummy muffins then take time to read together before school starts.  We’ll be ready for you from 7:20-7:50am.  If you would like to help with this event, please comment below.

Author Night:  May 18th
Would you like the opportunity to hear from and meet the authors who have been working with your student?  How about other local authors?  You’re all invited to our 1st annual Author Night.  During this evening you will also be able to purchase titles from our authors and have them signed.  This event will be open to the public and held at Taylorsville City Hall, so bring your friends and family.  Watch for the weekly flyer you’ll be emailed with author information and event updates.

We will need quite a lot of help to run this event.  If you are interested in getting involved, please comment below.

Field Day:  June 5th
The last day of school can bring many emotions to our children.  And since our families are spread throughout the valley the anticipation of missing friends could be greater than usual.  So keeping with tradition of many of our neighborhood schools, we’re going to spend time the last day of school having some enormous fun.  Volunteers will be needed for games and kiddo management.  If you would like to help with this, please comment below.

Reminders
Has your child had a chance to join the Birthday Book Club?  To celebrate their birthday, have them give a copy of their favorite book to our library.  Or, ask our amazing librarian for a suggestion.  Birthday Book Club labels are available in the front office and in the library.  If you have questions about this “club,” please comment below.

There is always a Box Tops collection bin in the front lobby & our Green Fiber Recycling bin has plenty of room in it!  These are easy ways to generate funds for our school.

Thank you for all you do!  Have a stellar month!

Your VO officers, Celeste, Pam, Debbie, Brittney & Chantelle
